There are a few shops, restaurants and bars in the nearby villages of Montriond and Essert-Romand, and you’ll find a much wider choice in the centre of Morzine.

And when you return to Chalet Plume after a wonderful day in the mountains, you can relax and enjoy the view from the hot tub and spacious terraces.

About the property…

Chalet Plume is a unique wood and stone chalet that can accommodate 14 guests (including a maximum of 12 adults).There are five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, spread over three floors, as well as a useful basement.

The entrance hall leads to a WC and a bunk room for six, with two sets of bunk beds and two single beds. This room has a bath/shower room with a separate WC. On the other side of the hall is a television room, with a large, comfortable sofa and board games. The impressive master suite is also on this floor – it has its own dressing room, study and a bathroom with shower and double washbasin.

French windows lead from the bedroom and TV room to a sunny terrace with a hot tub. A secondary entrance leads to a ski room, complete with heated boot rack.

Most of the first floor is devoted to a spacious open-plan living area with plenty of natural light, thanks to several skylights and French doors. There’s a large, three-sided sofa in front of the TV, and a large dining table where everyone can sit down to eat together. Cooking for a crowd will be a pleasure in the well-equipped modern kitchen, which has a double oven, induction hob and breakfast bar.

This room opens onto a balcony on one side and a covered terrace on the other, with a large dining table and armchairs. There’s also a double bedroom on this floor, which has an en-suite shower room, WC and doors to the balcony.

There are two more double bedrooms on the top floor, each with its own desk and shower room with toilet.

Chalet Plume has a large garden as well as parking spaces for several cars and a charging point for electric vehicles.

About the area…

Chalet Plume's superb location gives you easy access to all 12 resorts in the Portes du Soleil ski area. Despite its quiet setting, it’s just a short drive from Morzine and Les Gets.

With 650km of pistes for all abilities, almost 200 lifts and plenty of ski touring options, the Portes du Soleil is a winter sports enthusiast's paradise. The ski area extends into Switzerland, and can ski all the way there. Be warned, however, that the crossing is difficult and requires the services of a mountain guide.

For those who don't ski, Morzine offers many other winter activities: ice skating (indoor and outdoor), snowmobiling, ice climbing, tobogganing and, of course, snowshoeing and sleigh rides.

Once the snow has melted, the slopes around Morzine and Montriond become a haven for hikers and mountain bikers. The lifts near the chalet continue to operate in summer, allowing you to start your trails from the summit.

Morzine-Avoriaz has been awarded the Famille Plus label for its programme of activities and facilities for children. The Indiana Parc offers tree-top assault courses, rafting and many other activities for all ages, while Lake Montriond is perfect for canoeing and paddle-boarding.

On quieter days, you can explore the area’s wonderful scenery on foot or by bike – take a picnic and make a day of it. Or you could visit a dairy farm or farmers’ market and get a taste of the wonderful local produce that Savoie has to offer.
